The RESTORE Initiative is an online community of care aimed at providing clinicians, patients, and caregivers with vital information to help promote enhanced an understanding of the various non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic (non-opioid and opioid) ways to manage pain, as well as associated risks and guidelines for opioid analgesia, fostering responsible and effective pain management. Centered in a multidisciplinary approach, collaboration between different members of the pain team can help boost patient pain control, improving quality of life. Furthermore, maintaining a heightened awareness of the risks of opioids, inappropriate prescribing and non-medical use of opioid analgesics can help reduce potential adverse outcomes, including opioid use disorder, unintentional overdose and death. Our goal is to provide relevant informtion about the different modalities to control pain, the latest updates on care guidelines and key resources such as naloxone, to enable informed and individualized care.
Please explore the Clinician and Patient portals for information on understanding how the body interprets and deals with pain, essentials of pain assessment and management, and fundamentals for appropriate prescribing and referral.
